1. Technical Skill Test

First and foremost, you need to have the technical skills required to take great photos. This includes things like knowing how to use your camera, understanding exposure, and being able to edit your photos well.

Can you take a sharp photo with proper exposure? This seems like a no-brainer, but many photographers miss the mark when it comes to technical skills. If you can’t take a technically sound photo, you’ll have a hard time succeeding as a photographer.

2. Creativity Test

Secondly, you need to be creative. Photography is all about capturing moments and telling stories, so if you can’t come up with creative ideas, you’re not going to be very successful.

Can you see the world differently and capture it interestingly? This is what separates great photographers from good ones. Without creativity, your photos will be forgettable.

3. People Skills Test

Third, you need to have good people skills. Can you interact positively with people? This is important both for working with clients and building a network of contacts.

As a photographer, you’re going to be working with all sorts of different people, from clients to models to other vendors. If you can’t manage these relationships well, it’s going to be very difficult to succeed in this business.

4. Business Skills Test

Fourth, you need to have basic business skills. Do you understand the business side of photography? Photography is a business, so you need to know how to market yourself, price your services, and professionally run your business. If you don’t have these skills, it will be very difficult to make a living as a photographer.

5. Passion Test

Fifth, you need to have a passion for photography. Do you have a genuine passion for photography? If not, it will be difficult to sustain your interest in the long run.

This is one of the most important tests because if you don’t love what you do, it’s going to be very difficult to succeed. You need to be willing to put in the hard work and dedication required to make it as a photographer.

6. Commitment Test

Sixth, you need to be committed to your craft. Photography is not a hobby; it’s a profession. If you’re not willing to commit yourself fully to your photography business, you’re not going to be successful.

7. Work Ethic Test

Seventh, you need to have a great work ethic. Are you willing to put in the hard work required to succeed as a photographer? This includes things like putting in extra hours when necessary and always putting forth your best effort.

Photography is a lot of hard work, and if you’re not willing to put in the hours, you’re not going to be successful. You need to be disciplined and motivated to make it as a photographer.

8. Perseverance Test

Last but not least, you need to have perseverance. Can you handle rejection and keep pushing forward? There will be times when you don’t get the job or the client doesn’t like your work. It’s important to be able to pick yourself up and keep going.

Photography is a tough business, and there will be times when it’s difficult to stay positive and motivated. But if you persevere through the tough times, you will eventually be successful.

These are the 8 simple tests that every photographer must pass to make it in this industry. If you can master these tests, you will be well on your way to a successful career in photography.
